New at Rutland...
We enjoy welcoming new people and work hard to include you. The quickest way to feel part of a place is to be actively involved.
Where to start? The welcoming team on a Sunday morning are able to point you in the right direction. Our Pastoral Care Co-ordinator (Sheila) looks forward to connecting up and introducing you to people to help you plug in. The office during the week is also another great place to pop in for a chat. The office is a busy place and the hub of our campus. The Elders would also love to chat and help you settle in as they pray for you.
For the younger ones, many programs are operating to suit various ages or needs. View the youth page for more information.
Church can be a big place, life groups are a great way to reduce the size of church and build friendships while connecting at a deeper level while gaining a support network from a more personal level.
What is the Sunday Morning Service like? Sunday morning is where we all come together to worship God. The service starts at 10am however, church is usually open much earlier as the music team has their practice. Don't let this stop you coming in to have a look. The service includes singing (typically 7-8 songs), communion, service/ministry highlight, and preaching/teaching from God's word. After communion Kid's Zone starts, and our younger ones head to their program where the teaching is aimed at their level. The preaching/teaching is typically 25 minutes in length. If you miss parts of it, or unable to join us on the day the sermon can be listened to online including the slides projected on the day.
On the first Sunday of each month, with our Samoan friends we join for the morning service. This is quite a special service and style. We always enjoy our time together prising God with the mix of languages. This is followed by a lunch - which of course you are most welcome to join in and eat with us - there is always plenty of food.
Church doesn't stop because Sunday has come and gone, the week is full of activity, from programs for school age people, to adult life groups and other types of Bible studies. Let's not forget the community based activities that occur such as: Mainly Music and Homeshare.
